The Holiday Season is Hard

If there's one thing that I hate about November/December, it's how busy everything gets.  We've got different things going on at our house every weekend after this coming weekend until the new year.  That means that we've got to get the house cleaned (and I still need to finish replacing the bathroom sink).  I've got contract work that I really should get done before the end of the year, and also make sure that I send out invoices and get paid, so the income is on the correct tax year.  Then, we need to finish Christmas shopping for Erin's family and for our nieces and nephews that are still kids, since no one ever listens to my request to get us Christmas lists in October or November.  Football season is winding down, so there are lots of important games that I really want to see.  We've also got to get the winter Ultimate league scheduled and set up to start taking registrations in the very near future.  We've got friends that need to move into their new house and out of their apartment before this Saturday (long story for another time), and I really want to help them out as much as I can too, so that's taking time as well, no matter how glad I am to help.  And now, I've probably got to work this weekend, so we can get our site redesign done and released by December 10th.  Doesn't leave much time for all of those other things above.

Fortunately, The entire week between Christmas and New Year's Day are paid holiday days at work, so I'll get some time to unwind.  Unfortunately, I can't use that week to get any of the above done, since I need to get essentially everything taken care of in the next ten days.  The holiday season is like those "vacations" from work, where you do stuff around the house to catch up - you just need a vacation from it all just to get your bearings straight after it's over.
